Classroom Guidelines:

1.     Please make yourself familiar with the student handbook regarding absences and the make-up policy. It will make your life and my life much easier if you just come to school

2.     One you enter the class, do so quietly and immediately begin your bell work in your assigned seat unless otherwise instructed. You will have a bell work assignment every day.

3.     Cheating will not be tolerated. Any activity the teacher considers cheating will result in a zero for that assignment. This includes, but is not limited to, copying in any form, plagiarism, cheat sheets, talking during a test or exam, use of phone during test or exam. We will do group work, however, each student is responsible for their own work.

4.     In-class effort and participation will be incorporated into your grade. Respect, responsibility, honesty, trustworthiness, and obedience will help your grade. Being lazy or disrespectful to me or others is not an option; you will work and behave like a young adult.

5.     Unless instructed otherwise, you must raise your hand to request permission to speak. To end discussion sessions, I will simply raise my hand. Students should immediately stop talking and focus their attention on me when I do so.

6.     Never leave your seat without permission. You must raise your hand to request permission to sharpen your pencil, throw something away, borrow materials, etc.

7.     Do not touch someone else’s belongings—including mine—without permission or write on objects that aren’t yours (i.e. desk, dry erase boards). Furthermore, keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself at all times. NEVER thro anything in the room unless I allow you to do so.

8.     Electronic devices, brushes, combs, make-up or other personal hygiene products are to remain out of sight and not be used in class. Purses must be stored underneath your desk.

9.     Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom unless I give you permission. Only bottled water is acceptable.

10. Sleeping in my classroom is not allowed (this includes laying your head down on your desk). If a student is caught sleeping, he/she will be given a ZERO for that day’s participation grade.

11. There is to be no talking during announcements over the intercom or Quistor Voices. All students should be quiet and listening.

12. MOST IMPORTANT: Do what you are told to do the FIRST time. I expect you to act like a young adult. Be where you’re supposed to be, doing what you’re supposed to be doing, when you’re supposed to be doing it!
