My name is Katrina Wells and I am thrilled to be able to teach at OBHS this year. This will be my 7th year teaching and I am a proud graduate of DeSoto County Schools. I earned my Bachelors's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi with secondary endorsements in English and Social Studies. Since then, I have also received my endorsement in Special Education. I am currently working towards my Masters in School Counseling and will be complete with my coursework in early May.

I am so glad that I get to be a part of your child's journey this year and I hope to instill high expectations for all of my students as well as helping them build a passion for reading.

The Language and Literature curriculum is designed to develop your skills in reading and writing narrative, informational, and argumentative texts.

Throughout the semester, you will be exposed to a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts, including novels, short stories, essays, and informational texts. Close examination of these texts will help reinforce your knowledge of literary elements, as well as develop your comprehension and analytical reading skills. These texts will also serve as models for the different writing styles we will be working on ourselves.

Grammar, vocabulary, and language usage skills will be reinforced daily alongside our units of study.
