Save the Date: DeSoto County Schools to Host "Kickoff to College" for 11th Graders

DeSoto County Schools juniors, mark your calendars! On Wednesday, February 17, 2027, the district will host Kickoff to College at the Landers Center, an event designed to help 11th graders take the next big step toward life after high school.

Junior year is when post-secondary planning gets real. Test scores, applications, scholarships, and career decisions are all just around the corner, and Kickoff to College gives students a head start. The event is built around three goals: Explore, Connect, and Plan.

Students will have the chance to explore the wide range of options available after graduation, from universities and community colleges to career and technical pathways. They'll connect with representatives and resources who can answer their questions and help them understand what it takes to reach their goals. And they'll leave with a clearer plan for their senior year and beyond.

Kickoff to College reflects DeSoto County Schools' commitment to Every Student, Every Pathway, Every Opportunity. Whether a student already knows exactly where they're headed or is still figuring it out, this event is a chance to turn big dreams into real plans.
