Welcome to Our Class!
Welcome to nutrition and wellness, also known as "Cooking Class". I look forward to introducing you to the wonderful world of cooking and learning the important life skills of nutrition. In this course you will not only learn how to cook, but also what makes up a healthy diet and the importance of knowing what is in the food you eat. This class will be fun and creative, but will also be challenging in preparing you for your future.
About the Teacher
My name is Morgan Brinkley, and I am originally from Memphis, TN. This is my 5th year teaching, and I am ecstatic to be teaching Nutrition and Wellness. This is my first year at OBHS, and I am excited to have OB Pride all the time! I graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Public Relations, but I decided I wanted to be a teacher. I completed the Mississippi Alternate Path for Qualified Teachers and I am licensed to teach Family and Consumer Science classes.
My husband, Carter, and I have been married for 5 years, and we have a dog Tobie; he is basically our child. Carter is the youth pastor at Hernando Baptist Church, and we love encouraging and leading students to live their best lives.
My hobbies include running in the St. Jude half marathon, painting, and obviously cooking. I love to read and watch movies. My favorite shows are basically anything on the food network, The Office, Parks and Rec., and all the Harry Potter movies.
A few of my favorite food experts to follow on Instagram are: Halfbaked Harvest, Artisanbryan, and TheSaltedTable.
